Blue arrived in Michigan on June 8th 2002, he was not feeling very well and was taken in to be examined by a vet on shortly after he arrived in his foster home. Blue’s health rapidly deteriorated and he was euthanized on June 13, 2002 after it was determined that he had less than a 10% chance to survive emergency surgery. Blue died of Lymposcarcoma (cancer of the lymph glands) at the age of 4. He is survived by his littermate Bert, who also came to Michigan from Kansas to find his forever home. Blue was fostered by the Schiros family, and thanks to their quick action he was in vet care almost immediately, however, his life was lost to this dreaded disease. Blue’s foster family both mourn his loss, and look forward to seeing him again at the bridge one day. His time with them was brief, but he left his mark on their hearts and in their home. Rest easy Blue, run with the wind.
