JS Luv That Loot
Loot arrived to GEM on May 23, 2016. Loot had broken his leg racing. He has since had his leg surgicaly repaired and just last week, had to have his hardware removed removed from his leg. The repair has healed very well and Loot is healing well since the hardware removal.
A letter from Loot:
Hi! My name is Loot. As you can see I have been hanging out in the “Waiting in the Wings “ section for a while. My foster Mom and the doctors say I am ready to find my own family and home now. See, I broke my leg in May and came to Michigan to see the wonderful people at Animal Surgical Center. They fixed me up my leg with screws and plates and the rest was up to me and my foster Mom. Lots of time on the lead, no running, no jumping, no anything fun that the other dogs were doing … But that’s ok, I got lots of scritches while they were playing. When my leg was ready, my foster Mom and I were in the yard all by ourselves and she took the lead off and I stood there for a minute before I went trotting off. It was fun! Then I was allowed to play with the other dogs too! Well, one day my leg wasn’t feeling so great so I walked on 3. ( I was used to that ya’ know ) I heard Mom saying something about pulling up lame and hardware. I was just happy to be playing and all.
We went back to see the Dr. and he said the hardware had to come out. I was rejecting it. (I don’t think I did anything like that, but he is the boss Mom says) So I had surgery the next day and they took all that stuff out of my leg and I was back in a cast again! Sheesh, back on the lead and no playing. NO fun for me. What the heck was happening. Well , I am happy to say the cast if off, I am using all four legs ( most of the time, but if want to go really fast, I use 3), the leg is stronger than ever and I can play and run with all the other dogs. I am a very quiet boy who likes scritches. I have never got on the furniture or beds. I am living with 3 greyhounds and a shit-zhu. I did have a cat friend I lived with but he moved over the bridge. I walk well on lead, I crate perfectly or I can be left out and I won’t bother anything that isn’t mine. ( ok, 1 time, I took some bread from the table, Mom said she would not hold it against me though ) If you are looking for a handsome well behaved gentleman , here I am! Hope to meet you soon .
Your new friend
