Federer
Although Freddy originally arrived from the Prison Program to GEM in September, 2008, he has been under observation for the last 6 months with a diagnosis of “Possible Early Progressive Retinal Atrophy” (PRA). He has been on GEM’s web site since then as “Waiting in the Wings” (Special Needs). He has just recently been moved to his “Cell Dog” designation as he had his six month Ophthalmic Examination and it was concluded that he has “Normal ocular findings in both eyes”. There is no treatment needed as Freddy’s eyes have proven to be just fine and free of any abnormalities. NOW Freddy is ready for his forever home!
Freddy is very good with people and is comfortable with children. He is a relatively quiet dog with a sweet attitude that would do well in a calmer home with a regular routine. Freddy gets along very well with our greyhound and ignores our cat. He comes from the Prison Program, so he already knows many commands. He is very food motivated and even sits down for his meal. He enjoys racing around in the yard and tossing and playing with his stuffies but will come immediately when called. Freddy also likes going for walks; he is very good on-leash. He is a social dog and will greet your return home with lots of roo’s and loud singing. Freddy crates very well and enjoys having things to chew on. (Kongs, rawhides, chew toys, etc.), He is always ready to go for a ride and will travel in the car with no problems. For more information, contact his foster mom Merrie.
