Atascocita Turk
Quite simply put, Turk is amazing. Having come straight from the kennel to our home, he has adapted quickly to life as a pet.
Within 48 hours he has mastered the stairs to the second floor and shows off that skill relentlessly. There has not been a single marking incident since his arrival (thank God for belly bands) and understands that potty breaks occur outside. He will do his business on lead but prefers the freedom of the back yard to relieve himself.
He is a bit of a counter surfer as one would expect but responds quickly to a sharp NO! or OFF!
He sleeps peacefully without a peep through the night in his crate and is ready to go come morning.Turk is very affectionate and loving, craves attention and has already welcomed our 3 year old grandson with tail wagging and kisses. Getting him to walk on lead without pulling will be a challenge but he is learning. He is such a big boy that this will take work and patience. One can expect a workout while walking at least until he learns who’s walking who. We are working on that and I expect he will learn quickly as he has everything else thus far. He isn’t cat safe for now but I suspect that he’s so bright that even coexisting with smaller animals could be a possibility with time and patience.
In short, Turk is going to be a great companion for his adoptive family and I will update further as he acclimates to civilian life.
