Allan is a very friendly senior whose activity level belies his age of 11 ½. He loves to be with his people and can often be found nuzzling someone’s hand for petting. His favorite activity is taking a walk and he can walk longer and further than some of my younger dogs so if you’re someone who enjoys a stroll around the neighborhood daily, Allan would be a great dog for you. His second favorite activity is emptying the toy basket in search of the perfect stuffy and he is often surrounded by toys on a bed or carrying one around the house. He crates very nicely, doesn’t go on furniture and looks forward to treats and dinner time. He also does a little bark-whine thing to tell you when he needs to go outside. Allan is getting along nicely with our resident greyhounds and the family cat. He is doing okay with the stairs but it is evident that he never saw them in his first home. Since he’s still a little tentative a home with stairs would probably be fine with Alan as long as they’re carpeted. He is also pretty comfortable with our hard wood floors; although he does lose his footing once in awhile it doesn’t seem to intimidate him. Alex is a confident and friendly boy who will fit well into almost any family.
Allan’s foster family, Roger and Nance Halle, couldn’t imagine their family without Allan, so they made it official and adopted him on June 4, 2010.
